Why this exists
The research and coordination around setting up in Japan — mapped before you spend on professionals.
Japanese law reserves certain work for licensed professions — company registration filings for judicial scriveners, applications to government offices for administrative scriveners, legal advice for lawyers. We do not do that work, and since January 2026 the penalties for unlicensed firms that do have applied to the company as well as the individual.
What we do is the research and coordination around it: mapping the requirements so your professionals start from a brief instead of a blank page, then interpreting, translating and scheduling once they are engaged. Introductions are made at no charge, to you or to them.

About this service
Why can't you just register the company for us?
Japanese law reserves registration filings for judicial scriveners and government applications for administrative scriveners. Since January 2026 the restriction explicitly covers fees labelled "consulting" or "support", and penalties extend to the company employing an unlicensed person. Any firm offering to handle it as part of a consulting package is taking that risk on your behalf.
Do you charge for the introductions?
No — not to you, and not to the professional. They are made free of charge precisely so that no one can characterise them as brokered legal work. We are paid for research, translation, interpretation and coordination, which is work we may lawfully do.
Can you find us an office?
We can benchmark districts, rents and serviced-office terms, and place enquiries with agents for you. Acting as a property broker requires a licence we do not hold, so the agency agreement and the lease are always signed directly between you and a licensed party.
